Silver Lake Terrace

The homeowners of Silver Lake Terrace approached KGK with an exciting opportunity to enhance their existing sloped backyard. Their hillside space had been cleared and a staircase and small lakeside patio had been installed, but the remaining space left a lot to be desired. The existing sloped lawn was difficult to maintain and offered nothing to the existing environment. With drainage and ease of access in mind, KGK offered a design solution that included quarry stone retaining walls arranged into a series of terraces to soften the existing grade while creating bedspace for new plantings for greater interest. A wide selection of native plants and cultivars were selected and planted to create beauty, and with time, naturalize throughout the space and provide natural erosion control.
