Landscape Supervisor

KGK and Company is a full-service landscape architecture, construction, and maintenance provider to residences and businesses across Northeast Ohio. Landscape Supervisor manages landscape installations on residential and commercial properties for new and existing clients. Two + years’ experience in horticulture industry or related landscape position is required. The position will be full time, anywhere from 40 – 50 hours per week based on KGK’s need. This position is seasonal with year-round potential.

Primary Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Experience and Education:
Experience with or around professional horticultural settings or landscape companies is required. No high school or college degree is required.

Technical Skills:
Essential: Valid Drivers license, clean driving record, ability to lift 50 lbs, ability to bend and stoop, willingness to stay off cell phone unless there is an emergency, follow directions closely and multi-task, ability to learn and follow safety guidelines, tracking and reporting materials accurately, ability to work in all weather and temperature conditions, interacting with clients and representing KGK in a professional manner, detailed-oriented with considerable attention to order and cleanliness. Primary Job Functions:

Landscape Installations:
As a Landscape Supervisor, you will oversee and perform the installation of landscape projects for both residential and commercial properties. Landscape Supervisors are expected to perform and execute responsibilities laid out in work orders and detailed construction documents as they relate to planting, grading, lawn installation, lighting, and maintenance duties. Landscape Supervisors are able to operate mini-excavators and skid-steer loaders, plan for the project accordingly, and run their own crew. Typical projects include new planting beds, trees, perennials, seed, sod, mulch and other landscape materials. These projects can be stand-alone or encompassed within a larger construction project. It is the responsibility of the Landscape Supervisor to:

  • Oversees and works on the installation of landscaping projects, both residential and commercial
  • Responsible for landscape tasks such as planting, seeding, topsoil applications, mulching, and pruning
  • Manages and leads in the installation of landscape features such as flowerbeds, water features, ponds, and fountains
  • Prepares soil, loads, and unloads materials and equipment
  • Ability to work in all weather and temperature conditions
  • Interacting with clients and representing KGK in a professional manner
  • Mentors and trains new laborers

Administration:
Track all time and activities under client using the mobile application, Quickbooks time, for both yourself as well as any laborers on a daily basis. Take photos at properties daily and attach to Quickbooks time along with comprehensive notes of what was completed or not completed during your visit. Turn in all completed work order, receipts, packing tickets, etc. to office within 24 hours of completion. Proper planning to ensure that your crew has the appropriate number of people on a daily basis to do the work that is scheduled for the day, and work directly with Operations Director to obtain the labor when needed.

Crew Management:
Supervisor will be responsible for training new and existing laborers as necessary and will serve as point of contact for their assigned projects. Manage all paperwork, work orders, and time tracking of self and crew.

Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
Supervisor assists in maintaining the tools, equipment, and vehicles for landscape and maintenance teams. Supervisor assists office staff of any additional services that may be needed for any client. Supervisor assists in training new landscape and maintenance laborers. Supervisor assists in helping other landscape and maintenance crews as time allows and needs arise. Supervisor assists office in analyzing data from past project for future designs and contracts. Barn housekeeping, organization, and inventory.
