Highfields Events Center

Highfields Event Center was created to share the beauty of this second- generation farmland with the community in a much-needed venue beautiful enough to match the surrounding grounds. Working closely with the DS Architects Design Team, KGK developed a comprehensive site plan connecting indoors and out. Guests are welcomed to the property by a circular sign bed featuring a gabion wall with illuminated Corten steel sign and lush plantings. Circulating around the Entry Auto Court, visitors pass by the native meadow bioswale before reaching the center’s entry terrace. Simple tree and foundation plantings were selected to allow Highfield’s architectural details to be the focus of attention. Bollard light fixtures, sandstone curbing, and the rough-sawn cedar pergola blend new and old to create a truly unique venue entrance.

Passing through the vine wrapped pergola, guests will arrive at the Terrace, an expansive chevron paver patio connecting the main venue space to the outdoor ceremony site. The Terrace is also home to Highfield’s perennial garden, an ever-evolving naturalistic planting feature that was created to provide an ongoing show of color and textural interest throughout the wedding season. Surrounded by a wildflower meadow and mature woodland beyond, Highfield’s is a hidden gem in the Hudson community.
